We were taught at our tender age that you get what you pay, the more you pay the more (quality) you get. Some truth holds, the wily marketeers are smart to capitalize on this with embellishments, they know what you're willing to pay more for. These embellishments add luxurious that are not functional, it's a thing of beauty that you and your guests will appreciate.
Cables have long born the name of snake oil. For real? Try all with pro sound cable, you will know. I like to think cables are like makeup, you have light makeup like an innocent girl from next door or full makeup like a show girl. It's your pick? School girl, office lady or bossy woman. Audio enthusiasts almost never give any attention to pro sound cables given inappropriate sport cars on cheap tyres. Psychologically not right.
Things happen when you least expect it. Again, listening is believing, nothing personal. After living with audiophile cables, I noticed the drawbacks while I acknowledged the euphony is irresistible. A rabbit hole, each audiophile cable charms and allures you, without fail, we get accustomed to it rather easily. A swap makes my jaw dropped, an awakening. It's a slap, alright, to find out how bad I had screwed the sound up. It's not over the top saying audiophile cables are tone control. By that, they add and subtract sound. With them, you can bend the sound to your liking too. Dynamic, density and restrain are the likely consequence. So, pro sound cables restore what were lost back into the sound. Particularly, how they not getting in the way of music. It's gold for me.
With a caveat, I avoid all pro sound cables for total blandness. My approach is one tone control power cable and all pro sound signal cables. No to a cable loom, instead I mix pro sound cable of different companies. Hard to describe how please I am, lost and found perhaps is the closest description.
My piano playback regains the vitality. Nimble, nuances, transient attack and silvery lining as should be. In a swift, no dragging. I can see my finishing line already.
